I was born and raised in Croatia, on a small North Dalmatian island. Since I can
remember I listened to stories and folk songs, told and sang by old folks. At a young age
I got organ lessons by a nun and sung in church quire. At 12 I got my first guitar and not
much later I played my first gig and got robbed of my first pay. As a HS junior in 1961. I
formed one of the first Rock&Roll band in former YU, called OKUD AC (Omladinsko
kulturno umjetnicko drustvo "August Cesarec", "Youth's culture art company.."). A year
later I renamed it to OTOCANI (The Islanders). After going through many changes as a
musician and band leader, in 1972 I decided to immigrate to New York. There I played
with various local bands, The ADRIATICS, KRISTALI. In 2001 I formed a trio 3 CORNERS. It
was a great little band with excellent potential but it lasted only 3 years. After that I
retired and started to record a CD of Croatian folk music arranged in contemporary
styles. After a initial success with this CD a year later I recorded a second CD. Both CDs
are selling well by all major retailers. Now I am teaching music to my grand kids. Thanks
